Private Music Instruction
WE CAN TEACH YOU ANYTHING! With more than 50 instructors across 8 Charleston-area locations, and decades of teaching and performance experience, there isn't a musical instrument or genre we can't teach you how to play.
Most people ask to start music lessons on one of the "big five" (piano, guitar, drums, violin, or voice). Starting on any of these instruments (yes, voice is an instrument!) is great, especially if you're unsure about what interests you (or your child). Generally, most piano, drum, and vocal students begin at age 5; guitar students tend to start at age 6; and instruction on band instruments begins in 4th grade. The best age to start on violin depends on the method, but can begin as young as age 3. Learning to play a musical instrument isn't just for children. Black Tie Music Academy has numerous adult students too! You're never too old to learn to play. Why not take your air guitar mastery or dashboard drumming to the next level!? Sign-up for music lessons and start learning the real thing today! Don't forget - we can also outfit new music students with the right equipment, in the proper size, to help them build confidence and enjoy both their lesson time and practice time at home. The right equipment paired with our talented group of professional instructors can mean the difference between frustration and inspiration. Let's do this! |

Pricing* for private music instruction
Black Tie Music Academy recommends that new students begin with weekly, 30-minute private lessons. Pricing for music lessons is based on a monthly subscription model, not a "per-lesson charge." Lessons are still scheduled on a weekly basis. Some months may yield 4 or 5 lessons, while other months may yield 3 or 4 due to holidays. We feel this model helps everyone - parents, students, instructors and BTMA management - plan and budget better.
30-min/week - $120 a month
45-min/week - $180 a month
60-min/week - $240 a month
90-min/week - $360 a month
120-min/week - $480 a month
